August was a big month for us. Hedley & Bennett officially turned 4 years old. Ellen, our Apron Lady, turned 29 and we just knew we had to celebrate. How? A carnival! In the back lot of Apron HQ. We invited all our friends and were lucky enough to have helping hands from our #apronsquad. We ate, danced, laughed, took jumping photos, and ate cake like there was no tomorrow!
Our friends at Twink + Sis really helped to pull the carnival theme together, with little pops of color and trinkets.
Our friends at Traeger smoked up BBQ like it was nobody's business. They came in on Sunday night and prepped, leaving the meat to smoke overnight which meant we got to drive into work with the smell of hickory wafting #blessed.
For our vegetarian friends, Cava had us covered - the best damn pita and hummus ever. And super colorful grain bowls. Because why not!
True to carnival spirit, we had midway carnival games set up in red striped booths.
We had ALSO bouncy houses galore. Because we're Hedley & Bennett and it wouldn't be a carnival without a bounce house!
Melissa's Produce installed a living wall filled with the most freakin' colorful fruits and vegetables and it was INCREDIBLE. Definitely a photo op moment!
Our friends at ban.do allowed us to hijack some floaties for an installation! Pineapples, ice cream cones, pizzas and hearts. Because who doesn't love an emoji come to life.
The pineapple floaties made pretty much the PERFECT backdrop for the lounges set up by Yeah Rentals.
(Plus beautiful signage done by A Dapper Line!)
Goose Island also set up a bar because beer is a summertime must for a carnival, we think!
Our built-in coffee bar, manned by La Colombe served up draft lattes and rum coffees. Perfect pitstop.
The Flashdance DJ crushed it, and even had an inflatable watermelon in front of his booth!
The McConnell's Ice Cream truck was out and definitely a hit. Scoops between each mini meal, for sure.
We closed out the night with a massive cake by Charm City Cakes West. It even had little ampersands on it, just like our aprons!
It was honestly so much fun and we could not be more thankful for the amazing community of #apronsquad hooligans we're a part of. Thanks for celebrating with us!!
P.S. The Smilebooth photos were hilarious. Just look -
P.P.S. Our 4 year anniversary was also celebrated with a brand spankin' new apron - Maple. And she's pretty damn special.
