Cookbooks for Dad!

Dads. It's hard to sum up these special guys in our lives. Their corny jokes, favorite ties and worn out college t-shirts that you stole, there's just something about dads we love.

I was lucky enough to make memories with my dad in the kitchen cooking banana pancakes on the weekends and learning the in's and out's of the grill during family BBQS. Grilling is now my favorite way to cook thanks to you, Dad! Cookbooks are definitely not just for moms, especially these seven badass and beautiful books. From tacos to grasshopper ice cream (!!!), there is a book for every kind of dad we know and love - the crazy and weird especially.

Did you know Mexico is where vanilla and chocolate originated?? So it's no surprise that they have some of the most kickass ice cream flavors. Celebrate summertime and dad with some homemade ice cream from Oaxacan-Style Lime Sorbet to Tres Leches Ice Cream.

The Less Is More Dad

Tacos: Recipes and Provocations

Try to find one dad (or really anyone) who wouldn't want an entire beautiful book dedicated to TACOS?! The photography alone is definitely gift-worthy. Because so many of us go out for tacos, make dad a bucket list you two can conquer together and include "make your own tortillas!!" Let us know how it goes, pictures will be appreciated!

The Modern Day Dad

Weeknight dinners are tough, I think we can all agree. But Food 52 has done something truly miraculous with their curated book to help us tackle those late nights and stomach grumbles. Dad will be the master of his kitchen (and schedule) with this book, and Mom will probably thank you too!

The "Glory Days" Dad

Does your dad use maps instead of GPS?? Constantly talk about his days backpacking across Europe?? Has a weird tolerance for spicy food?? This book is for him. Everything about it, the stories, recipes and photographs, will transport him to a country that is bursting with amazing flavors and food. And you get to tag along!! A win-win for sure!!

The DIY Dad

Harvest: Unexpected Projects Using 47 Extraordinary Garden Plants

By: Stefani Bittner and Aletha Harampolis

Whenever I came home from elementary school covered in glue, paint and dirt, my dad would say "Wow you must have had a good day!" Make memories with dad in the garden by planting new herbs and challenge each other to spell the latin spellings of the plants - who knew huckleberry translates to "vaccinium ovatum!?"

The BBQ Master (Trust us on this one!)

On Vegetables

What does your dad think about vegetarian food? If he's a fan, great! He'll love this, no problem! If he's a meat and potatoes kind of guy, this book will definitely change his mind. Just turn to the grilled cheese sandwich page...you'll understand why. Melty, ooey cheese on crispy, fatty, golden-brown bread. That's all. You're welcome.

Salad for President: A Cookbook Inspired by Artists

By: Julia Sherman

Don't worry, this book has nothing to do with the 2016 election but let me tell you what it does have. Amazing inspiration from artists all over the world sandwiched between seasonal recipes that will turn your dad into a salad addict.
