Calling all dreamers, doers, small business owners and hustlers! We are partnering with the amazing team at Instagram to host an awesome and free community-driven event this summer at the Apron HQ called the “School of Hustle.”

A new wave of entrepreneurs have turned a passion – food, art, floristry, beer, fashion – into a real, thriving business via Instagram. As any business owner knows, finding customers and educating them about what you do is a pretty vital part of the formula, which is why we partnered up to help businesses succeed! With Instagram’s continual support of small businesses on their platform and our 5 year anniversary around the corner, we thought that instead of throwing a party together, we could use the opportunity to give back to the growing community of business owners by inviting pros from different industries to share their insights on business.

Panels are themed: Boss Evolution - Building A Social Media Community Online & Off; A New Approach to Retail: Mixed Media IRL; and The Awkwardness of the Negotiation: How To Close a Deal. There will be "Speed Hustlin," 1:1 round-robin sessions where attendees will get to ask experts for advice on anything from marketing to HR, and even a live Instagram Stories Scavenger Hunt, a hands-on demo on how to use the tool creatively for business.

“The idea of School of Hustle is one I’ve had for a long time. It’s teaching people who have an idea or a passion what it really takes to make their dream come true,” says our Apron Lady. “We as a company, and me as an entrepreneur, still have so much to learn! But during our first five years we’ve learned a tremendous amount from other hustlers out there, and from our #ApronSquad community. This event is our way of giving back, and we couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect partner than Instagram.”

For Morgan Cornelius, Instagram’s Small Business Community Lead, “One of the most inspiring parts of my job is meeting with small business owners who have turned their passion into a business on Instagram. Ellen Bennett is one of those people - an entrepreneur who started with an idea and grew it into a multi-million dollar company in a few short years, and uses Instagram to grow her #apronsquad community and connect with customers. At the School of Hustle, we hope to bring together and celebrate the community of local businesses in Los Angeles and empower even more entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and tell their visual stories.”

We are hand picking all 200 or so attendees after a thorough application process. It's free to attend, and we encourage all entrepreneurs and small business owners to apply!
