Studio Visit // Moon Canyon

One of my favourite things to do is a studio visit. It's an amazing opportunity to work directly with the incredible makers/craftsmen/artisans who wear our aprons. Being in Los Angeles, we are so blessed to be surrounded by talented, passionate hustlers who do everything from custom bike build-outs, to handmade ceramics, to floristry. Last week, I was able to swing by Kristen Caissie of Moon Canyon's studio, a bright and beautiful space nestled between Silverlake and Koreatown.

A small and intimate operation, the team that day included Brandy and Kristen's newborn daughter Lilou. The mother of two seems to handle the transition of new baby and burgeoning business beautifully and her Instagram captures the journey and her work in a beautiful light. Her work with flowers is magnificent to behold. If you think the pictures are beautiful, you can only imagine what one of these arrangements makes you feel in person. The dimension, the subtlety of colours, textures and lines meld to present flowers as artwork. When asked when she knows an arrangement is "finished" she replies "you just know," a soft smile both knowing and humble. She works with seasonal blooms, letting the flowers speak for themselves.
